Brief
Personal Background
Widow of Donald Crain, Sr. who was born In the New Albany
hospital. His parents, etc. were all from Union County; Poolville
to be exact. I have two children: Dr. Sarah Crain, a Dentist at Byhalia Ms. Health Center, and Allen Crain, the Associate Producer of Fox 40 News in Jackson, MS.
What do you like best about teaching here?
The outstanding
support I get from the administration and my department
and the atmosphere of teaching in a top school in Mississippi.
What are a few of the most exciting things you have taught this year? (or
look forward to?)
I enjoy the labs I am able to do in Biology I and in Anatomy and Physiology.
I am a very "hands-on" instructor in getting my students to learn by
doing. The students really seem to enjoy dissecting the animals in Biology and
the "body -parts" in Anatomy and Physiology.
We also did wonderful projects on cells in Biology and on organ systems in Anatomy
and Physiology.
What activities, clubs, sports do you assist with?
I sponsor the Anchor Club and am assistant sponsor of the Student Council.
Which school event do you look forward to the most every year?
I thoroughly enjoy
the musical put on by the Drama Department. My great aunt instilled in me a great
love and enjoyment of musical theater and I really look forward to the play at
the high school. I hope to be more active in helping in some way with this activity
next year.
I also am active in helping with homecoming and of course, with Anchor initiation
( which was a great success this year) and have a lot of fun with both of these
activities.
