Bishop Brings Home the Gold

Chris Bishop placed 1st in Electrical Wiring at the State SkillsUSA Championships held in Gulfport April 13-15, 2010. Other winners are: Chad Browning, 2nd Place in Plumbing; Austin Richey, 2nd Place in Architectural Drafting; and Mr. Billy Matkins was selected as the “2010 State SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year”.

Chris is senior at New Albany High School, Chad is a senior at West Union and Austin is a junior at New Albany High School. Chris and Chad studies Building Trades under Mr. Matkins and Austin studies Drafting under Mr. Kevin Wigington at the School of Career and Technical Education.

Chris has qualified to compete in the 2010 National SkillsUSA Championships to be held in Kansas City, Missouri June 20-25, 2010. SkillsUSA is an international nonprofit student organization serving more than 300,000 members.
