World History is a year-long course examining the events from prehistory through our present technological age. Major units of study include River Valley Civilizations, Roman Empire, Christianity, Rise of Democracies, Industrial Revolution, and Major Wars of the 20th Century. The student examines the major historical movements as well as gains a better understanding of our world today. United States History: 1877-Present 11, 12 1 Credit Graduation Requirement United States History is a year-long course that uses thematic units based on interwoven social, political, economic, and geographic changes in the United States from 1877 until the present. The course focuses mainly on events such as World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, etc. This course also prepares students for the United States History Subject Area Test.
